This clinic will provide you with all the requirements needed, for your T1 or T3 rating through the United States Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association. The Torrey Pines Gliderport is the largest tandem operation in the world. Our tandem safety record is more than 100x safer than our closest competitor. Before purchasing this clinic please contact the General Manager, Enrique, in the office to talk about your flying history. Be prepared to talk about the number of years you have been flying, logged flight hours, logged number of flights, where/who your ratings were obtained from, SIV training, and what you hope to achieve with the T3 rating. Tandem Instructor Clinic

Join the Torrey Pines Gliderport Tandem Team and a USHPA Certified Tandem Administrator to earn your Tandem Instructor (T3) rating. This clinic is the USHPA accredited Tandem Instructor Training Program. The clinic will include all your pre-requisite requirements to attain your Tandem Pilot (T1) rating as well as your Tandem Instructor (T3) rating. Both ratings can be attained after completing this clinic, ongoing education support, and tandem rating renewal at no additional cost! The Torrey Pines Gliderport is the largest tandem paragliding operation in the USA, we have the most experienced tandem staff in the world. The clinic is 3-4 days and begins at 10am on Friday morning. Clinic materials will be mailed / emailed, with receipt of full payment. There is a lot of information to study so, please register at least 2 weeks in advance. All equipment can be purchased or rented from the Torrey Pines Gliderport. Just bring yourself, logbook and be ready to learn.

Torrey requirements for clinic attendance: P4, special skills sign-offs (TUR & RLF), and one of the following below:

  1.  250 hours of logged airtime or
  2. 150 hours of logged airtime with 500 flights of at least 500 ft vertical descent or
  3.  150 hours with 500 flights of 2 minutes or longer
