Work with the Torrey Pines Gliderport Instructor Team and Instructor Administrator Gabriel Jebb, to earn your Basic or Advanced Instructor rating. This clinic is the USHPA accredited Instructor Training Program. The clinic will cover all the pre-requisite requirements to attain your Basic Instructor or your Advanced Instructor rating.
The Torrey Pines Gliderport is one of the largest flight schools in North America. While the sport has been on the decline in the last 10 years, the Gliderport school grew 25% in 2016, nearly 40% in 2017, and nearly 60% in 2018. The Gliderport has been training the top pilots in the world for over 20 years. Gabriel has put together nearly 25 years of flying experience into a very comprehensive training manual which, will benefit you immensely. No other instructor clinic will spend as much time helping to ensure your future. Few schools offer in-depth training programs and curriculum used internally at TPG. The team has a vested interest in seeing you be successful and will work with you to ensure that success.
The clinic is 5 days and begins promptly at 9 am on Wednesday morning. Clinic materials will be mailed/emailed, with receipt of deposit or full payment. All equipment and clinic materials will be supplied by the Gliderport. Just bring yourself, logbook and be ready to learn.Torrey requirements for clinic attendance:
- Basic Instructors P3, 100 hours, 250 flights, special skills (FSL, TUR & RLF).
- Advanced Instructors P4, 1 year as a basic instructor, 250 hours, and 500 flights.
Feel free to bring students / potential students. You will be teaching existing Gliderport students hands on. The clinic very interactive and collaborative. Lots of hands-on work and interaction with students of all levels will be part of the program. Please read and study the FOI (Fundamentals of Instruction) book, published by Gleim.
