The independence cockpit can be attached to your harness. Very useful in order to stow little things that you need during flight, such as instruments. The hook-and-loop (velcro) tape on its top is provided in order to attach instruments to it during flight, which can additionally be fixed with loops. The instrument case can be removed, so that you can always have your expensive instruments at hand, while the lower parts can stay attached to the harness.
