This knife is amazing. It has a wide opening near the blade to allow not just lines but entire risers or webbing to be cut. The handle is balanced nicely in your hand. The cutting blade is a simple straight raiser that can be replaced if ever used, just to make sure you have the sharpest blades. Hook knifes are a great idea if your towing over water, a tandem pilot or concerned about landing under a reserve in a less than opitimal environment.

Never fly without your hook knife. It’s one of the most important pieces in your safety kit! Easy to remove from the holding pouch, the knife will easily install on multiple places on your harness, flight suit, spreader bars, etc. It features an open handle for easy gripping inside or outside the knife, a powder coated aluminum handle and heavy duty construction with larger cutter openings. ]]> Independence SK2 Tow Bridles

The textile towing device SK2 is equivalent to our well-established SK1, but it additionally has an integrated towing support. That support helps to pre-accelerate the wing during towing in order to make towing phase safer by preventing deep stall and achieve more altitude. SK2 can only be attached to the main suspension of your harness. Fixed to the towing device are two line, which are fixed with brummel-hacken (sister clips) to the carrying strap. Line length is variable in order to achieve perfect pre-acceleration of 20-25%, dependent on the glider. If you don’t want the pre-acceleration, don’t connect the sister clips to the strap.

The handle bar extension consists of a slide tube with hook-and-loop fasteners, that holds the release line for SK1. The release line is attached to the release handle of SK1. The extension needs to be fixed to the towing linkage (weak link) and shoulder strap of the passenger. That way the towing device is clearly visible to the tandem pilot, thus it’s easy to grab and activate!
