One of the most popular counties in California, San Diego is bordered on the south by Mexico, on the north, partially, by Orange County, home of Disneyland, and on the west by the Pacific, which imparts to the county a climate that delights the residents.
The air is dry, the mornings, along the coast, cool, the afternoons and evenings warm but rarely humid. In an average year, 25 cm (10") of rain falls in downtown San Diego. 90% of the residents live in towns and cities within 33 km (20 miles) of the Coast. Coastal San Diego is peppered with mesa and plateaus which offer some unique ocean cliff soaring. As you move inland, the temperature rises and the terrain steeps which has discouraged development and enhanced mountain and desert cross country paragliding opportunities.
San Diego sun intrudes pleasurably into everyday life: Glorious sunrises
over mountains to the east, marvelous sunsets over the Pacific to the
west. Rolling up against the sandy shore and bluffs, the Pacific compliments
the sun. San Diego is the paragliding
paradise of the Pacific... don't delay.
